Film Review!

Image
Hey cuties! So with editing all finished we have now look over the film. Honestly, I love it! I think it was really well filmed. I feel like we did a really good job at capturing the idea I had. The only part of the film that I feel like wasn’t captured that well was the idea that the character is deaf. I had no idea how to show it that well. But I hope the point comes across. I wanted it to be that the attacker was ableist and only went for deaf people. Which was the reason it was so important for the one being attacked was deaf. I really hope that you guys like it as much as we do. I’m pretty proud of it. I think the music really made it all come together. I also think that Kaylee used the perfect font for what we were going for. All together our team really enjoyed the film even though it wasn’t exactly what I expected. I’m happy with the changes that were made. That’s all for today. I hope you have a wonderful day. Bye lovelies!

Finishing Editing

Image
I have finally finished the editing process. But this wasn't a process I completed alone. With the help and opinions of my director Honey. Both me and Raven decided to have different versions of the film to choose from. Both these versions being editing to our different likings. So as a team we had to decide which version we wanted to use. The final verdict was to use my edited version slightly combined with Honeys. This decision was made because both versions were awesome and even better combined. So this means the overall editing is completed with only a few tweaks needing to be made. The main one is adding our music to the film. Music that took us a while to decide on. Honey as the director chose 2 songs. One was by Power Music Factor and the other was by Elysium Audio Labs. Even though these were not the songs we initially wanted they worked out perfectly fine in the end. Honey was nervous on how the music would pair with the video but in the end it worked. As the editor I thi

Starting Editing

Image
Hi cuties! So today Kaylee started the editing process. She has kept both Greg and I in the loop making sure we like it. I think that so far the editing is going really good. We decided that I was gonna edit it and Kaylee was going to edit it. From this we will decide which one was best to use. Or if it could be combined. It’s crazy how with how it was filmed there was barely any need for editing. But I think the editing is going to add at least a little bit more depth to the filming. On my part I’m trying to see if we want to use any color correctors. But I don’t think it’s gonna be necessary. I think that the lighting was perfect for the mood I wanted to convey. I’m honestly really excited to see what it’s going to become. And I’m also trying to see what music is going to be the best thing for the film. Right now I’m stuck between three different sounds. It’s a little nerve wracking to know that this could make or break our entire film. Anyway, that’s all for today. Have a wonderfu

Making Some Changes

Image
For today's work some editing has to be done. Due to the fact that we left a needed element out of the script. When Raven wrote the script, she was unaware that we needed dialogue. A minor mistake we were able to easily come back from. So, with that being said we edited the script to include speaking parts. But this mistake also meant that we had to re-film. This new and final take would include the added dialogue. As a group we agreed that he first take would've been ok but regardless of it didn't have the needed dialogue. Though, Honey as the director also felt we could make another take even better with the dialogue. So, we ended up refilming. With this new take we included the dialogue. With the first take Greg was the only actor. This retake include Greg, Honey, and an "extra".  I feel like it made a bit more since for our storyline. We had to make a few sacrifices along the way and we had to change a lot of the scenes. However, I feel like these changes adde

Start of Filming (Production Blog)

Today we started filming. As the editor I don't need to be fully involved in the filming process. By this I mean filming scenes and acting. But I still give my input on how the shots should be filmed so the editing process is smoother. All the scenes were filmed at Greg's house (our chosen location). So, we started off by meeting there and making sure everything was set up. The actually filming of each scene was rocky in the beginning. This is because as a whole we didn't like how they were turning out. But after a few tries we ended with the perfect scenes. So, in the end we persevered and had a productive day of filming. We also put in all of our needed effort. Although the process started out rocky once we got the hang of it was a piece of cake. Though there were some distractions. The main one being Greg's little sister as she wanted to be around while we were filming. But we made it work and ended up including her in the film. Honey as the director overlooked the e

Choosing a "soundtrack" (Music Blog)

Image
Today we will be making some choices on the music we want. An aspect that's very important to the film. As of now were trying to make the final decisions of what we want music to portray in this film. It's been a fun process testing out different sounds and songs though it has not been easy. The music we choose has to fully resonate with the vibe we want to create. Since my team and I are working extremely hard to figure things out, collaboration is crucial. In order for my team and I to precisely determine what we want the music to express, experimentation is crucial as well. Honey being the director will be making the final decisions on music. I trust that she will be able to creatively be focused since a well-chosen song can have a huge impact. Every sound we take into consideration has a distinct vitality. Especially when we begin the editing process. The selected tracks will have a significant impact. Each sound under consideration possesses a unique vitality to the film.

What's our Plan (Production Blog)

Back at it with another blog. Me and my groupmates are almost ready to start the filming process. Today we planned out a rough draft of what it is we want to do. For example, choosing the location (a house). Making sure it was the vibe we wanted. Weve been planning each and every production element to the best of our ability's. Details as small as the set and props to making sure that every detail in the film is aligned with the script. We are also figuring out what we want our actors to wear. Nothing specific has been chosen at this point. Some test scenes have been filmed as an "estimate" of some angles and how the project will be filmed. As the editor it has been my job currently to test out how sound will be best incorporated into the film. Every little detail on sound will be meticulously chosen to best convey the feelings and vibe. Honey has been testing out different lightings as well to see what best mirrors the themes portrayed in our script. Filming will start F
