Group Blog: Choosing my Mates and Song

To kickstart the process of my music video I of course had to find the people I wanted to work with. The people that I would be communicating with seeing outside of school and so on over the next few weeks. Something that wasn't too hard since it was pretty much a given that I would be working with the people I sit with. This is because it's much easier when u have your options right in front of you. These people being Honey, Alysse, and Mac. The three people I've sat with since the year started, so we have a decent knowing of each other. This being the main reason I chose to work with them. I felt it would be more beneficial to me to work with people I knew rather than strangers I would need to build a connection with as we progressed through the music video. Getting to know new people (as fun as it may be) a priority for this project. Now onto the process of choosing the song. Now, when I say process, I don't mean a long thought out one that would need deliberating to find the perfect song. We were able to choose our song pretty quickly which was surprising but exactly what we needed to get the music video thought process going. My fellow groupmate Honey mentioned a song that she really liked and wanted to do. So, we listened to it and decided that it was a good song, and we were ok with it. This song being God Complex by Violet Vira. We chose this song due to the fact that we saw a vision of the music video just from the lyrics. Also, that we were able to quickly come up with ideas for the music video. That being very important obviously because if we were to have found a song, listened to it and then realized that we had no ideas for the video that will have been too much time wasted. For example, we would have to keep circling through songs and who knows if we would have had any luck. So thankfully we were able to hit the jackpot and quickly find a song leaving us more time to find ideas for the video.
